Cory Flanders, a native of Winter Park, Florida was born in London, England. Cory’s father was stationed abroad, serving in the United States Navy, as a special telecommunications operative. Cory and his family moved from London, England to Orlando, Florida where he then started school. At age 16, he started working at a fast food chain, Taco Tico. Learning quickly that he didn’t care for the restaurant industry decided to go to work for his uncle.
Cory’s uncle, being a builder, taught Cory to work with measurements and how to use his hands for building. Cory soon discovered he had a strong interest and passion for carpentry. Cory was promoted to running his own crews. As time went on, Cory gained knowledge and experience and then accepted a job as a subcontractor. He ended up working for several builders in the Orlando area. In 2008, when the Florida economy fell Cory made the decision to follow a builder friend to Galveston, TX.
He helped rebuild Galveston after the devastation of Hurricane Ike. He moved on to the many facets of building and remodeling in Houston and the surrounding areas. In 2012, he then met Sam Hickey with Creekstone Outdoor Living where he currently oversees various projects and continues leading his crews.
Cory enjoys anything outdoors. He spends his free time kayaking on Lake Conroe or Galveston Bay. He loves skateboarding, wakeboarding, and hiking in the hill country. He has recently completed several 5K’s and a couple of Mud Dashes. Cory keeps himself very active.
